Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

I am currently recruiting for 3 Teaching Assistants to start in one of our partner Secondary schools from September 2019. We have been tasked with supporting their recruitment due to our ongoing relationship with the SEN department.

The school have expressed all 3 successful candidates must feel confident in challenging situations as the pupils you work with will all be from varying backgrounds and have some form of additional needs that will need to be supported. These roles will be a great test of your behaviour management and relationship building skills as you will need to be adaptable when working with new students who often find it tough to integrate into mainstream secondary school.

Have you got any experience working with multiple young people at once in a coaching, classroom or setting that means you have had to divide your attention while remaining focused on the task at hand? If so, we would love to hear from you to discuss how we can move forward with your application.

People who have been successful in these roles previously have come from backgrounds in:

*SPORTS, PSYCHOLOGY, EDUCATION, YOUTH WORK, CARE BACKGROUNDS, SEN SPECIALISTS*

The School & The Roles

  • Cardiff Secondary School
  • Over 1000 Pupils on role with the school housing specialist SEN Support units
  • Supportive Roles - Mentoring and guiding pupils aged 11-16 years old
  • Working alongside the Schools Special Education Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO)
  • The possibility of supporting the Year 6/7 Transition in September
  • Great experience for future Teachers

If you are looking for a full time role in a school setting then please get in touch in order for us to have an in depth conversation about the 3 Teaching Assistant roles with you.

You do not need to have a background directly working with SEN however you do need to have a positive attitude to supporting young people with additional learning needs. This will be your key to success and the school have stated that having the right personality is key to getting the best from the pupils.

To be considered for this role or to find out about other schools we are supporting for September then please get in touch by sending through your CV today.
