1:1 Tutors required in Lancashire

This vacancy has now expired.

Job description

Teaching Personnel work closely with a number of Lancashire Schools who are currently seeking off site Tutors to work with their pupils. The Schools tend to appoint Tutors for short and long term positions to work with their pupils who are out of education for a number of reasons. Generally speaking, pupils are out of School due to their behaviour, their additional needs or simply because they are awaiting a new School placements. In some situations you will be expected to work with pupils who have mental health difficulties or pupils 'at risk'.

The tuition sessions tend to take place in youth centre's, library's, community centres or in some cases, in the pupils home, although we tend to avoid this when possible. The tuition sessions on average tend to be between 2 - 3 hours per session, however, again, some pupils need additional hours. With this in mind, the candidate applying for this role must be flexible and able to work part time hours which may or may not be increased to full time.

The ideal candidate will either hold their teaching qualification OR have experience as a Cover Supervisor/HLTA. The candidate will be hard working, enthusiastic, experienced in building rapport with pupils who are often harder to reach and have an understanding of the current curriculum. In some cases you will be expected to plan your own lessons but this is not always the case.

The successful candidate will benefit from:

- Negotiable pay rates £15 - 25 per hour

- Long term positions available

- Rewarding positions working 1:1 with pupils who have additional needs and sometimes, challenging behaviours

If this role sounds ideal for you please do not hesitate to contact Kirsten on 01772 842155 or email with your CV and covering letter.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
