Help Learners Thrive – SEN Tutor (Whiteley)

We are currently recruiting SEN Tutors in Whiteley to provide tailored one-to-one tuition for children and young people requiring additional educational support.

Position: SEN Tutor
Location: Whiteley and surrounding areas
Contract: Flexible part-time and full-time opportunities available

The Opportunity

This role involves supporting learners outside of mainstream classroom settings through engaging and personalised tuition sessions. You will work with students who may have a range of additional needs, helping them build confidence, develop key skills, and reconnect with learning.

Tuition sessions may take place in students’ homes or local community venues.

Main Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver personalised one-to-one learning sessions
  • Support learners with needs such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and anxiety-related barriers to education
  • Adapt resources and teaching methods to individual learning styles
  • Encourage positive engagement and emotional wellbeing
  • Build supportive and professional relationships with learners and families
  • Track learner progress and adjust support where needed

Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people preferred
  • Experience in tutoring, teaching, coaching, mentoring, care, or support work beneficial
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Calm, reliable, and flexible approach
  • Understanding of safeguarding expectations and procedures
  • Willingness to travel across Whiteley and nearby areas

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
