Job description

Secondary Tutor – DE4, Matlock

Location: DE4, Matlock
Start Date: ASAP
⏰ Hours: Monday to Friday, school hours (flexible)
Contract Type: Part-time / Ongoing

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Secondary Tutor to support students in the DE4 Matlock area. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide tailored educational support and help learners build confidence, improve attainment, and achieve their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging 1:1 tuition sessions to secondary-aged students.
  • Support learners across core subjects, including English, Maths, and Science where appropriate.
  • Adapt lesson plans to meet individual learning needs.
  • Monitor and track student progress.
  • Build positive relationships that encourage engagement and achievement.

Requirements

  • Experience working with secondary-aged students.
  • Previous tutoring, teaching, or educational support experience.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching approaches to suit individual learners.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Right to work in the UK.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
