1:1 Teaching Assistant
Job description
We are recruiting a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support students aged 10–16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a full-time position with an immediate start, working 8.30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. You will be working within a highly regarded specialist education setting located in a beautiful harbourside area. The school is recognised for:

Students present with a range of SEMH needs, which may include: Anxiety and emotional regulation difficulties, Challenging behaviour linked to trauma or adverse experiences, Low self-esteem and difficulties engaging with learning and Additional needs such as ADHD or communication challenges
Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 tailored support to help students access learning

Support emotional regulation and behaviour management

Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils

Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff
Requirements

Minimum 6 months childcare experience, particularly supporting children with SEN
-
Experience with SEMH or behavioural needs is highly desirable
-
A calm, patient and resilient attitude
-
Passion for supporting young people who need consistency and understanding

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
