Youth Worker - Wigan
A large, mixed secondary school in Wigan are looking to recruit an experienced Youth Worker for a position as a Cover Supervisor, starting as soon as possible.
The successful candidate with a background in youth work will join the secondary school's support team, covering a range of lessons in the absence of the class teachers. Confidence and behaviour management are key aspects of the Cover Supervisor role and so the experience in youth work is essential.
Role and Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor:
- Covering lessons in the absence of the class teacher at short notice
- Delivering work set by the school, to a c lass of pupils
- Ensuring pupils remain on task with the pre-set work, in line with the behaviour policy
- Great experience for those considering a career in secondary teaching / PGCE
How does it works?
- You will be introduced to this role by Teaching Personnel
- You can expect a call on the morning of due to the nature of short term absence
- Working approx. 9am-3pm, covering a range of KS3 and KS4 lessons
- Flexible role to suit your availability
- Earn up to £1200 a month, paid weekly
- Working at a supportive secondary school in Wigan - close to the area of Hindley
Candidate requirements:
- Strong behaviour management
- Confident managing a class of students in the absence of the teacher
- Previous experience working with young people, especially challenging behaviours
