Youth Worker Teaching Assistant - Clapton

Job description

*School local to underground and bus routes*

* Potential to secure permanent contract*

We are looking for a 1:1 youth worker to support in a pupil referral unit in the Clapton area for an immediate start. This will be supporting in a welcoming, supportive school which provides education for secondary students who all have a statement of emotional, behavioural needs and have been excluded from mainstream school. As part of the role you will be planning and delivering 1:1 support for a caseload of students on core subjects Literacy, Maths and Science. You will deliver 1 hour sessions which will need to engage the learner, using creative, interactive resources. This post is for full academic year with the potential to secure a permanent contract in September 2019 as pupils need consistency in support!

1:1 Behaviour Youth Worker:

  • Must have previous experience of supporting young people or adults with challenging behaviours , emotional or mental health needs
  • Able to plan and deliver 1:1 sessions across KS2 - KS3 level
  • Provide differentiated support for individual needs of students
  • Need to be available for an immediate start
