Youth Worker

The successful Teaching Assistant will support students in class across the subject areas, and deliver targeted interventions to students on a 1:1 basis during lessons and break times.

Due to some of the students displaying challenging behaviour, the role will also involve working closely with pupils who have been withdrawn from lessons. The Salford school’s focus is that they are `committed to equality of opportunity and to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment where every individual is valued for the part they can achieve’. Having experience in supporting children who display challenging behaviour or have a variety of SEN is not essential but beneficial to fully flourish within this role. However, experience of a Sporting background in coaching or teaching would be desired but not essential. The pupils are 11-18 years old and from a socially deprived background which invlved SEMH difficulties and challanging behaviours to be displayed.
