Youth Work Assistant required - Manchester - immeidate start

Job description

A full time position for a specialist youth worker to commence as soon as possible. The pupils who attend this Setting often display signs of challenging behaviour and can be prone to regular aggressive outbursts. Due to the nature of the needs of the pupils the Head of site have requested that applicants have experience in working in residential home, care home or Pupil Referral Unit.

This particular site is part of a cluster of 9 Secondary pupil Referral Units all of which are based in Manchester. This particular Setting caters for secondary aged pupils who come from a range of diverse backgrounds. The pupils who attend this Setting may be: LAC pupils, pupils with SEMH needs and pupils who have been permanently excluded from mainstream provisions.

The ideal Youth Worker will have:

- A background in Youth Worker or Residential care

- A passion for supporting pupils with SEMH needs

- Team teach or de-eslcation training (desirable)

- A driver's licence with access to their own car (essential for travelling around sites)

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
