Youth Support Worker

Teaching Personnel are excited to be recruiting on behalf of a setting in Sherborne, Dorset that cater for young people with EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties).

We are looking for individuals who are committed to making a positive difference and seeing young people's lives turned around. With your experience in Behaviour Management / SEN / Mental Health you could help young people by giving them an opportunity to see life differently, change their perspective and add a little light in that tunnel.

This work is not for the fainthearted but for those who are emotionally resilient, non-judgemental, understanding and patient. The home can cater for up to 3 young people at any one time, currently they have 2 residents.

This role involves motivating and supporting the young people to live independently and build on their social skills. You may be at the home, in the community or taking the young people to pre-planned activities so we are looking for individuals that are adaptable and flexible.

There is shift work involved with this role. Normally you would be expected to work 8am - 11pm; you would then sleep at the home and repeat this the next day. This position is part time and offers flexible hours.

To be considered for this role, it is essential you have some experience supporting young people with special education needs.
