Year 6 Teacher required in a Rossendale Primary School (Maternity Cover)

Teaching Personnel have been approached by the Head of a small Church of England Primary School in Haslingden in need of a Year 6 Teacher to cover an upcoming maternity leave. The position will begin after the half-term in October, however there will be a 5 day handover period the week before, so you must be available to start from the week commencing Monday 24th October.

The School:

The school is a smaller than average Church of England Primary School based in the heart of Haslingden just off the A56 with local transport links and on-site parking. Being a church school, it has links with the local church and believes that the Christian faith underpins all they do in school. Pupils known to be eligible for pupil premium funding is above average, as are the pupils from ethnic minority backgrounds and pupils with a statement of special educational needs. Last year, the school fell just below the national average in terms of performance in both Year 2 and Year 6 however was graded as a 'Good' School by Ofsted as of September 2013.

The Role:

The incoming Teacher must have recent experience delivering to a Year 6 class and be confident delivering both Numeracy and Literacy with a strong emphasis on preparing them for the end of year SATs. The class can be a little tricky so behaviour management is a must and due to this the Headteacher has opted not to interview any NQT's.
