Year 5 Teaching Assistant

Salary: Minimum GBP61.20 per day
Contract type: Temporary with the possibility to turn permanent
Working days: Monday to Friday (term time only).
Working hours: 8:30am to 3pm (half hour lunch)

Teaching Personnel are looking to appoint a passionate, engaging, and motivated Teaching Assistant to start in ASAP until the end of the academic year for a primary school in Barry.

The successful Teaching Assistant will be required to work in a Year 5 class supporting the class teacher with general day to day activities, taking small groups for reading and writing and helping with lunch duty.


The successful candidate will:

  • Ideally have experience working with children (however this does not have to be in a school setting)
  • Have a patient and nurturing personality.
  • Be able to use their own initiative.
  • Be committed to the role and ensure the pupil has the support required.
  • Have a strong passion to enhance the development of pupils.
  • Be registered with the EWC (assistance provided)
  • Hold a current Child Workforce DBS registered on the update service (assistance provided)

The school is looking for a committed Teaching Assistant as there is a potential for a permanent contract.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
