A North Leeds primary school need a Year 2 teacher to take their class for the entirety of the winter term 2020, as the current teacher covering maternity leave has taken a permanent role elsewhere. If you satisfy the following requirements set by the school then please read on for the details. Requirements
The school As the role is for at least 1 term in their Year 2 class, the school see this as a good opportunity to recruit someone who has experience and can boost attainment in Year 2 in the lead up to SATs. The school received GOOD in their last Ofsted but have aspirations of achieving OUTSTANDING, so any record of high performance and good results in the lead up to exams would be greatly appreciated. Behaviour in the school is across the board very good and so the emphasis from the school's perspective is about recruiting someone with a good teaching style rather than a disciplinarian. The role The priority for the SLT is to recruit someone familiar enough with KS1 SATs so that they are comfortable in handling the responsibility of this year 2 class for this period of time. This does not necessarily have to be experience of teaching year 2, as if you had previously taken interventions in KS1 SATs this would also provide the relevant knowledge required. More specifically, Ofsted pointed out that the highest achievers were also not being sufficiently challenged, which resulted in a drop off in students achieving at a higher level in KS1. Therefore, experience of running booster groups and sessions with the higher achievers would be extremely useful, as this is likely to be required of the year 2 teacher. To apply If you think this role could be for you, then we ask that you apply by submitting an up-to-date CV that details your previous roles and the responsibilities that came with it. Should we and the school consider you suitable for the role, then you will be asked into the school for an interview and trial morning/afternoon at some point when school re-opens. |
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
