Year 2 Teacher, Manchester

  • Long term maternity post
  • Work in a "Good" Roman Catholic school
  • Opportunity for school based contract

Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a client school in East Manchester. This is a long term maternity cover in a Year 2 class starting in September. This is a “Good” Roman Catholic school striving to become “Outstanding” in the near future. The incoming Year 2 teacher will be given the opportunity to secure a position within KS2 if successful.

“We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Year 2 teacher to join our vibrant school team. Ideally the incoming Year 2 Teacher will feel comfortable taking a lead on phonics using the Jolly Phonics framework. Any NQT’s applying for the post will be given adequate release time.” - School Head teacher.

- Salary (£22,023 – £37,496)

- 2 form entry Primary school

- Opportunity for a school based contract

- Emphasis on CPD and training

The Role;

The school is a GOOD school where OFSTED state “Pupils’ good behaviour is characterised by an extremely well-developed sense of making well-considered moral choices.” The Head teacher is decisive and is supported by other leaders throughout the school as a result teaching and pupil progress is good. The Year 2 teacher will be teaching a class of 28 pupils with pupils coming from a white british backgrounds with low levels of children with English as an Additional language. The pupils are of the RC faith and the school services the local area.

Any teachers wishing to apply will need to have the following;

• Knowledge of teaching KS1 curriculum

• Experience of delivering “Jolly Phonics” is highly desirable

• Availability to interview ASAP and take up a long term post starting in September
