Year 2 Teacher

A safe, inclusive, and nurturing school in the Tameside area is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher to become part of their welcoming and supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity to help pupils navigate their final year of Key Stage 1, equipping them with the skills and confidence needed for a smooth transition into Key Stage 2, while nurturing their curiosity and passion for learning. The school are looking for the right candidate for the role as they would like to employ them on a permanent basis.

Location: Tameside OL5

Job Type: Full-time, Year 2 Class Teacher

Salary: £130-160 per day

Start date: January 2026

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creatively plan and deliver high quality, engaging lessons across the curriculum, providing children with knowledge and skills to thrive.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing next steps for learning and targeted support for all abilities and needs.
  • Prepare pupils for the next stage of learning in KS2, including summative data entry and continual assessments.
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment that values every learner.
  • Safeguard all pupils and support their wellbeing.

We’re Looking for Someone Who:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Passionate about working with young children and making a difference.
  • Strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and assessments (experience of teaching Phonics is essential).
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • A valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
