Year 1 Teacher, Stretford, Trafford, M32

This larger than average primary school in Stretford, Trafford (M32) is seeking a positive and proactive practitioner to join their team on a temporary basis starting as soon as possible. This full time, class teacher role will run up until the end of the summer term with the opportunity for extension depending on circumstance. The school prides itself on 'celebrating diversity' and promotes 'respect, tolerance and understanding' through its day to day practices and attitudes of the children and staff.

The role will be to work in one of the schools Year 2 classes supporting all aspects of learning for a class of 33 mixed ability children. The school are looking for a teacher who has recent experience teaching across KS1. A teacher who has experience with Year 2 SATs would be beneficial but isn't essential as continual support will be offered from the schools SLT. The school are looking for a candidate with a sound knowledge of the Year 2 curriculum who is familiar with the 'Letters and Sounds' framework for phonics.

This KS1 position would be an excellent opportunity for NQTs or experience teachers to gain experience in a larger than average, mainstream primary school. The majority of the children in this primary school are of a Bangladeshi heritage and there are a high number of EAL children in the school; someone who wants to experience working with EAL students would benefit massively from this position.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
