Job Title: Year 1 Teacher (Maternity Cover)

Location: Burnley, Lancashire

Position Type: Temporary, Maternity Cover

Duration: April 2024 to December 2024

About Us: We are a thriving two-form entry primary school located in the heart of Accrington, Lancashire. Committed to providing high-quality education, our school has been graded 'Good' by Ofsted. We pride ourselves on our friendly staff team, strong parental engagement, and inclusive learning environment. We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 3 Teacher to cover a maternity leave position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for the teaching and learning of a Year 1 class, following the school's curriculum and policies.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all students.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.
  • Assess student progress and provide regular feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Work collaboratively with the existing staff team to ensure continuity of learning and effective communication.
  • Maintain positive relationships with parents and caregivers, promoting strong parental engagement in their child's education.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) wit experience teaching in a primary school setting.
  • Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, preferably in Year 1.
  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to the school's ethos and values, including promoting inclusivity and diversity.
