Primary School in Bamber Bridge require 1:1 ASC Support Assistant

Are you a Level 3 practitioner who has prior experience working alongside children with special educational needs?

Could you work effortlessly to improve behaviour and academic attainment in an individual child currently working in the Year 4 class?

If you are answering yes to the above questions then please continue to read on as I have a full specification for the upcoming role in school. This role is to run from the start of February for the foreseeable future. The expectation is that the role will run for the entirety of the child being in school which is expected to be 2 years.

The role:

The role is a full time (school) working hours temporary contract through Teaching Personnel. You will be expected to support a child with ASC on a 1:1 basis, the child has a range of multi sensory needs and so it is key that the successful candidate has prior experience working alongside children or adults with Autism. The SENCO in school has contacted me in order to shortlist a number of suitable applicants with the view to interviewing and selecting the most suitable individual. The child has recently arrived from a neighbouring school in the area and so there may be an element of settling in to be done with regards to the move between schools. In the past, the child has displayed challenging behaviour and has a tendency to be aggressive and have outburst in class. With a 1:1 support, the school are hoping the needs of the child are continuously met in the working day and the child can settle into work more so with the other children in class. It is not essential but the school have asked Teaching Personnel to potentially look for candidates who have TEAM TEACH and definitely experience with children or adults with ASC.

The school is currently graded as GOOD by Ofsted and the children who attend school will make GOOD progress in Reading, Writing and Maths as well as in their social development. The school are however in the top bracket for children arriving in school from vulnerable backgrounds and so behaviour generally can be challenging. It is essential that you can use behaviour management techniques effectively to ensure all children are safe and stimulated in the learning environment as well as the child you will be supporting.

The pay for this role will vary between £9-£11 per hour. This is based on a 6 hour working day and a 5 day working week. You will also receive additional benefits to working in school including opportunities to undergo professional development such as Team Teach and Autism Awareness. We are also working in partnership with St Patrick's RC Secondary School, Eccles and Our Lady and St Johns RC, Blackburn to provide our staff with update knowledge and twilight sessions based on; behaviour management techniques; differentiation and progress; tailoring for children with special educational needs.

Contact me for further information- Please take time as well to look over our recent GOOGLE REVIEWS, these are a mixture of candidate reviews based on the service they have received through Teaching Personnel.
