Welsh-Speaking Teaching Assistant – Swansea & Carmarthenshire

Location: Swansea & Carmarthenshire
Pay: £14.25 per hour
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm (Monday to Friday – no weekends!)
Start Date: Ongoing opportunities available

About the Role

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a Welsh-speaking Teaching Assistant to support schools across Swansea and Carmarthenshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in rewarding educational settings, supporting pupils in their learning and development through the medium of Welsh.

You will play a key role in assisting teachers in the classroom, supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, and helping to create an inclusive, engaging learning environment.

✅ Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils’ learning in Welsh-medium or bilingual settings
• Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and delivery
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils
• Help manage classroom behaviour and engagement
• Support pupils with additional learning needs where required

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

• Be fluent in Welsh (spoken and written)
• Hold a valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one)
• Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) or willing to register

⭐ Desired Qualifications & Experience

While not essential, the following are highly desirable:

• Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
• CACHE Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning
• Previous experience working in schools or with children
• Experience supporting ALN (Additional Learning Needs) pupils
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
