Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a welsh speaking teaching assistant with relevant experience working with challenging children with behaviour difficulties for a vacant role in a Primary school in Newport (CF83). You will be required to work on a one-to-one basis with a pupil in Key Stage 2 with challenging behaviour in a mainstream setting, however will be expected to be adaptable and provide intervention outside the classroom to other pupils in the class or the Key Stage 2 department when required. The school are looking for an individual who has excellent proven behavioural management and is able to transmit a positive energy to their surroundings.

The ideal candidate is somebody who:

• Is able to start on short notice.
• Has relevant experience in a childcare and/or classroom environment.
• Strong behavioural management or experience working with challenging children.
• Is able to be adaptable to various circumstances.
• Positive, patient and energetic.
• The passion to make a real difference.

Applicants must : - Have the legal right to work in the UK - Hold a Child Workforce Only DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one - full assistance provided) - Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (compulsory requirement in Wales) - please note that if you are living in England, you can still register with the EWC which will give you the opportunity to work on both sides of the border - Provide at least two professional or character references - Be available to interview and/or trial asap - Be available to start on short notice If you possess the experience required and are interested in working in a mainstream school assisting a SEN pupil, then please send an updated CV along with a short cover statement.
