Wandsworth Primary seeking SEN trained LSA

A client primary school is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Teaching Assistant to work with a child that has Autistic traits and specific learning difficulties. The child will be in year 2 but is working at Nursery level due to his Special Educational Needs. The pupil requires 1:1 support throughout all of his learning activities during the day.

As part of the role you will be expected to:

• Liaise with the SENCO and class teacher to report on the child's development after each day.
• Work from a daily, visual timetable for the child
• Work along side the class teacher to plan personalised lessons each day
• Access the child's EHC and IEP plan to aid successful lessons
• To be able to think creatively and have a flexible approach to teaching and learning

Teaching Personnel are working alongside this school to recruit a Teaching Assistant to work in this busy and demanding Lambeth primary school. As part of the role the candidate must adopt a calm and patient approach and be willing to be flexible throughout the day. The chid can be known to portray some challenging behaviour however with the correct candidate, that can build a fantastic approach this can be minimal.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
