Unqualified Teaching Assistant.

Important information:

  • Location: Leyland.
  • Start date: Monday 13th May 2024.
  • Contract type: Temp-perm.
  • Working hours: Full time (8:30am-3:30pm, Mon-Fri).
  • Pay rate: £11.85 - £12.50 p/h.

A specialist provision in the Leyland area is looking for an Unqualified Teaching Assistant to join their fantastic team from May 2024! (Start date: Monday 13th May 2024). This provision provides full-time education for pupils aged 4 to 11 years who have struggled to access the curriculum in a mainstream school, and they also offer short-term placements.

As an Unqualified Teaching Assistant you will be required to provide additional support to pupils in small groups or in some cases, on a 1:1 basis. You must have an understanding of Social, Mental and Emotional Health needs and you must be experienced/confident in facing challenging behaviour.

Requirements:

  • Experience/confidence with handling challenging behaviour.
  • A genuine passion for working with and supporting pupils with SEMH.
  • Able to remain calm in high pressure environments.
  • Ability to support pupils on a 1-1 basis as well as in small groups.
  • Develop communication and interaction, personal, social, emotional and academic skills.
