Unqualified Teaching Assistant – Secondary School
Location: Caerphilly
Salary: £89.38 per day
Contract: Full-Time & Part-Time (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM)
Start Date: September 2025 – July 2026

No formal teaching qualifications? No problem! This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in SEN education while receiving full training and ongoing support.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide tailored one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and personalised lessons.
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
- Support students’ social, emotional, and behavioural development.
- Collaborate closely with teaching and support staff to meet individual needs.
- Prepare and assist with classroom activities and resources.
- Encourage student independence and confidence.
About Our School:
- We serve students aged 11–18 with a diverse range of Additional Learning Needs.
- Small class sizes (typically no more than 10 students) ensure personalised attention.

- Learning includes sensory activities, practical lessons, and individual development plans.
What We’re Looking For:
- No formal qualifications required; experience with children or in similar roles is a plus.
- Compassionate, patient, and resilient approach.
- Strong communication skills and a team player attitude.
- Genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.
- Willingness to learn and adapt.
- Ability to commute to Caerphilly and work school hours (8:30 AM – 3:30 PM).

Requirements Before Starting:
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (we’ll guide you through applying).
- Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration (we’ll help with this too).
- Two references from previous employers or relevant roles.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
