Teacher of Science
Suitable for NQT or experienced practitioner
With an increased pupil admission, one of our partner academy schools are in search of a Teacher of Science to join their faculty in Easter 2021 or sooner. The school caters for mainstream secondary pupils aged 11-16. Though part of an academy, the school works independently to its other local sites to ensure it is providing its pupils with an education that is prescriptive for its own pupils. Located in the Fareham and Gosport area, the school has a diverse intake of pupils from a variety of backgrounds including a large proportion of children with military families.
This position would suit an NQT or someone with more experience. The school have a well resourced department with many of its teachers having been working with them for a number of years. It is an exciting time to join the school, having recently appointed a new head from a successful partner academy school. It is entering a period of transitions which will be beneficial to all staff and pupils in order to continue to deliver a challenging yet rewarding education experience for pupils and staff alike.
Responsibilities will include:
- Create lessons and learning activities for pupils in accordance of the national, local and school standards in science.
- Deliver high-quality, engaging and inspiring lessons in the form of discussions, teaching, demonstrations and independent learning.
- Differentiate and adapt lessons when required to ensure all students are able to access the curriculum regardless of levels of ability, proficiency or interest in the subject.
- Evaluate student performance across submissions of work, practical assessments and test based activities.
- Maintain a safe classroom for students to explore your subject, promoting positive behaviour and addressing those not in line with the schools discipline plan.
- Communicate and liaise when required with parents, carers, external agencies and others regarding student progress, behaviours, intervention and future goals.
- Improve skills and knowledge in teaching by taking part in the school and the academy CPD, attending workshops and training events and completing modular training online throughout the year.
The school are able to cater for a teacher at the start of their Science Teaching career with its bespoke NQT programme. Similarly, if a more experienced practitioner applies, the school would welcome this teacher. Pay scale will be dependent upon previous experience and the school are looking for a Teacher between NQT and M6.
If you would like to apply for this position, please submit your CV today. Teaching Personnel works in partnership with the academy and if your application with us is successful, you will transition to a permanent member of staff with the school.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
