Tutor

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for Tutors in the Durham area to support children who need extra support in core subjects to help them fulfill their potential in their upcoming GCSE exams.

Some of these students may have SEMH or SEN needs and require further opportunities for learning outside of school, in a quieter and more relaxed environment which suits them. Alternatively, you may be required to go into school and work with the pupils in seperate rooms, outside of their normal lessons.

Tutors should be confident in their English and Maths skills and understand up to GCSE level - Tuition or Teaching experience is essential.

Some of the children may display challenging behaviour or a lack of focus, so tutors with an engaging and enthusiastic approach to learning, as well as the patience to simplify and give thorough explanations of the work is essential to obtain progress and results.

Candidate Requirements:

• Confident delivering either English, Maths or Science to GCSE level
• Happy to work with small groups or 1:1 with pupils
• Flexible to travel to external locations if needed
• Experience teaching or tutoring essential
• Experience dealing with SEN pupils would be preferred
• Child only DBS on the update service is essential
