Tutor – Primary, Secondary, GCSE & SEND

Location: Towcester & surrounding areas
Job Type: Flexible Temporary | Permanent opportunities available
Hours: Monday–Friday, school hours
Pay: Competitive weekly pay

TP Tutors, part of Teaching Personnel, is seeking experienced Teachers, Tutors and SEND specialists to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition to pupils across Towcester and surrounding areas.

Tuition may take place in schools, pupils' homes and alternative education settings during school hours. You will support learners with academic needs, exam preparation, gaps in education and SEND requirements.

The Role

  • Deliver engaging, personalised 1:1 lessons.
  • Support Primary, Secondary, GCSE, Functional Skills and SEND learners.
  • Plan lessons according to individual needs and learning objectives.
  • Identify learning gaps and monitor pupil progress.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to different abilities and learning styles.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers and schools.
  • Provide feedback and maintain accurate session records.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and education policies.

Subjects

We welcome tutors with experience in:

English • Maths • Science • Literacy & Numeracy • Functional Skills • Primary Curriculum • GCSE Subjects • Humanities • MFL • Computing • Creative Arts • National Curriculum Subjects

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' UK teaching or tutoring experience.
  • Experience supporting Primary, Secondary, GCSE and/or SEND learners.
  • Strong communication, lesson planning and assessment skills.
  • Good behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
  • Reliable ability to travel across Towcester and surrounding areas.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Right to work in the UK.

QTS, PGCE or another recognised teaching qualification is desirable but not essential.

Desirable Experience

Experience supporting pupils with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, dyslexia, SLCN, EHCPs, gaps in education, Alternative Provision or home tuition is advantageous.

Location

Assignments are available across Towcester and surrounding areas, including schools, homes and alternative education settings. Tutors must be able to travel reliably during Monday–Friday school hours.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
