1:1 Tutor – Primary, Secondary, GCSE & SEND

Location: Towcester (MK19) and surrounding areas
Hours: Part-time, flexible | Monday to Friday, school hours
Pay: Competitive rates, depending on the assignment and Local Authority

About the Role

TP Tutors is looking for experienced 1:1 Tutors and Teachers to support children and young people across Towcester (MK19), Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas.

You will provide personalised tuition to pupils who may be out of mainstream education, require additional academic support, or have SEND, SEMH needs or an EHCP.

The role is ideal for teachers and experienced tutors who enjoy working on a one-to-one basis and want to make a positive difference to a young person's education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver 1:1 tuition to pupils across Primary, Secondary and GCSE levels.
  • Teach in line with the UK National Curriculum.
  • Plan and adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs and abilities.
  • Support pupils with SEND, SEMH, EHCPs and additional learning needs.
  • Use engaging and differentiated teaching methods.
  • Build pupils' confidence, motivation and independence.
  • Monitor progress and complete accurate records after each session.
  • Work with schools, Local Authorities, families and other professionals where required.
  • Provide a safe, positive and supportive learning environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' UK teaching or tutoring experience.
  • Experience delivering the UK National Curriculum is essential.
  • Experience working with Primary, Secondary, GCSE or SEND pupils is desirable.
  • QTS or a recognised teaching qualification is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong communication and behaviour-management skills.
  • Patient, reliable and adaptable approach to working with young people.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and supporting the welfare of children and young people.

Safeguarding & Compliance

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Willingness to complete all required safeguarding and compliance checks.
