Job description

1:1 Tutor – Home or School-Based Tuition

Location: Brackley and surrounding areas
Hours: During school hours
Contract: Flexible / Part-time
Start Date: ASAP

We are currently seeking experienced 1:1 Tutors to provide personalised educational support to pupils in the Brackley area.

The tuition will take place either at the pupil’s home or within a school setting, during normal school hours. This role is ideal for qualified teachers and experienced education professionals who are passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging 1:1 tuition tailored to each pupil’s individual needs.
  • Plan and prepare appropriate lessons and learning activities.
  • Support pupils with their academic progress, confidence, and engagement.
  • Adapt teaching methods and resources to suit different learning needs.
  • Establish positive and professional relationships with pupils.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback when required.
  • Work professionally with parents, carers, schools, and other members of the education team.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ teaching experience in the UK.
  • Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
  • Experience delivering 1:1 tuition is desirable.
  • Relevant teaching qualification or strong teaching experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to individual pupil needs.
  • Patient, reliable, and committed to supporting pupils’ educational development.
  • Enhanced DBS check required, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Right to work in the UK.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
