Job description

1:1 Tutor – Primary & Secondary | English, Maths & Science – Northamptonshire

Competitive Pay | School-Based | Part-Time & Full-Time | Monday–Friday

TP Tutors, part of Teaching Personnel, is seeking experienced 1:1 Tutors and Teachers to support Primary and Secondary pupils across Northamptonshire and surrounding areas.

We are looking for tutors with strong subject knowledge in English, Maths and/or Science to provide personalised tuition in schools during school hours. This is an excellent opportunity to help pupils close learning gaps, build confidence and make academic progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging 1:1 tuition in school settings.
  • Support Primary and Secondary pupils with English, Maths and/or Science.
  • Plan lessons based on individual learning needs and curriculum requirements.
  • Identify and address learning gaps.
  • Support GCSE preparation where appropriate.
  • Monitor pupil progress and complete session reports.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and school staff.
  • Create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' UK teaching or tutoring experience.
  • Experience working with Primary and/or Secondary pupils.
  • Strong knowledge of English, Maths and/or Science.
  • Understanding of the UK National Curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and behaviour-management skills.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Ability to travel to schools across Northamptonshire.

Desirable

  • QTS, PGCE or recognised teaching qualification.
  • SEND experience, including ASC, ADHD, SEMH or dyslexia.
  • GCSE teaching/exam preparation experience.
  • Experience with EHCPs, personalised learning and alternative provision.

Locations

Roles are available across Northamptonshire, including Northampton, Wellingborough, Kettering, Corby, Daventry, Towcester and Brackley, depending on school requirements.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
