We’re currently seeking English Tutors in Sunderland and the surrounding areas to provide tailored academic support to young learners. You’ll be expected to bring enthusiasm, professionalism, and a strong commitment to safeguarding and educational growth.
Pay Rate: £25–£30 per hour
(Some sessions may take place in students’ homes or local libraries – a full UK driving licence is desirable.)
What We’re Looking For:

Excellent command of the English language and strong communication skills
-
UK-based with a permanent home address
-
A natural ability to engage, encourage, and inspire young people
-
Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one – we can help)

Experience working with children/young people, including those with SEND or SEMH needs
-
UK teaching experience is a plus
-
Experience in classroom or 1-to-1 tutoring environments

A strong grasp of the English curriculum and exam board specifications

Two professional references covering at least 24 months of recent employment (within the past 10 years)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
