Make a Difference Through One-to-One Tuition
TP Tutors is looking for passionate and experienced tutors to provide personalised one-to-one tuition to children and young people across Kettering and the surrounding areas.
Tuition may take place in pupils' homes, schools, or alternative education settings during school hours. You could support learners with academic needs, exam preparation, gaps in education, or specialist SEND requirements.
Whether you're a qualified teacher, experienced tutor, or SEND specialist, this is a great opportunity to use your expertise to build confidence, overcome barriers, and help learners reach their full potential.
The Role
You will deliver engaging, personalised lessons tailored to each learner's individual needs. You may work with pupils across:
- Primary and Secondary education
- GCSE and Functional Skills
- Alternative Provision
- SEND and EHCP support
You will adapt your teaching style to suit different abilities, learning needs, and learning styles while helping pupils make meaningful academic and personal progress.
Subjects
We welcome tutors who can teach one or more of the following:
English • Maths • Science • Literacy & Numeracy • Functional Skills • Primary Curriculum • GCSE Subjects • Humanities • Modern Foreign Languages • Computing • Creative Arts • Other National Curriculum Subjects
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging one-to-one tuition tailored to individual needs.
- Plan and prepare high-quality lessons.
- Assess progress and provide clear feedback after each session.
- Adapt teaching strategies to different abilities and learning styles.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers, schools, and professionals.
- Support academic progress, confidence, and engagement.
- Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding procedures.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of two years' UK teaching or tutoring experience.
- Experience in Primary, Secondary, GCSE, Functional Skills, or SEND education.
- Strong lesson planning, assessment, communication, and behaviour management skills.
- Reliable travel across Kettering and surrounding areas.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
- QTS, PGCE, or another recognised teaching qualification is desirable but not essential.
Desirable Experience
Experience supporting learners with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, Dyslexia, SLCN, EHCPs, Alternative Provision, home tuition, or gaps in education is advantageous.

Location
Assignments are available across Kettering and surrounding areas. Tutors must be able to travel reliably to pupils' homes, schools, and alternative education settings during school hours, Monday to Friday.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
