Location: Corby and surrounding areas
Hours: Flexible, part-time, Monday to Friday, mainly during school hours

About the Role

TP Tutors is looking for experienced 1:1 Tutors to support children and young people across Corby and surrounding areas.

You will provide personalised tuition to learners who may require additional academic support, have SEND or SEMH needs, or face barriers to accessing mainstream education.

Learners may be at Primary, Secondary or GCSE level, with tuition generally following the UK National Curriculum. Sessions may take place in homes, schools, community settings or alternative education provisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and personalised 1:1 lessons.
• Follow the UK National Curriculum and individual learning targets.
• Adapt lessons and teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
• Support learners with SEND, SEMH needs and EHCPs.
• Use creative approaches to build confidence, motivation and engagement.
• Promote learner independence and positive behaviour.
• Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Complete accurate lesson and session reports.
• Build positive relationships with learners, parents and carers.
• Work collaboratively with schools, Local Authorities and education professionals.
• Maintain a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 2 years' UK teaching or tutoring experience.
• Experience delivering the UK National Curriculum.
• Strong communication and behaviour-management skills.
• Patience, flexibility and the ability to adapt teaching approaches.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children and young people.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Legal right to work in the UK.
• QTS or another recognised teaching qualification is preferred but not essential.

SEND Experience

Experience supporting learners with SEND or SEMH needs is desirable, including:

• Autism
• ADHD
• Dyslexia
• SEMH needs
• Speech and language difficulties
• EHCPs
• Other additional learning needs

You should be confident adapting lessons and resources to meet individual learning needs.
