Job Duties:

The English and Maths GCSE SEMH Outreach Tutor will be responsible for providing specialised tutoring services to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in the East of England, specifically in Brightlingsea, Essex. Duties include creating individualised lesson plans, delivering engaging lessons to improve students' English and Maths skills, monitoring progress, and providing feedback to students and their families. The tutor will also collaborate with school staff and parents to ensure a supportive learning environment for students.

Required Qualifications:

  • A relevant teaching qualification
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs
  • Strong knowledge of the English and Maths GCSE curriculum
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

A degree in Education or a related field

Experience:

Proven experience as a tutor or teacher, preferably with SEMH students

Knowledge and Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of SEMH and its impact on learning
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional training in SEMH support
  • Experience in delivering outreach or home tuition

Working Conditions:

This role involves working part-time hours on a temporary basis in the East of England. The tutor will primarily work with students in a one-on-one setting or small group sessions, either in a school or home environment. Flexibility in working hours may be required to accommodate students' schedules.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
