Trauma-Informed Teaching Assistants – Full-Time

Location: Various Primary Schools
Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM (Term Time)
Start Date: Immediate

Are you passionate about supporting children who have experienced trauma and helping them thrive in mainstream education? We are seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants who can make a real difference for pupils, including asylum seekers and those transitioning into primary school settings.

What we’re looking for:

  • Trauma-Informed Practice: Understanding of strategies to support children with emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Language Skills: Ability to speak one or more Middle Eastern languages (e.g., Arabic, Kurdish, Farsi, Pashto) to aid communication and integration.
  • Experience & Qualifications: Previous experience in education or relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 TA, SEN training).
  • Availability: Full-time, during standard school hours (8:30 AM – 3:30 PM).
  • Commitment: A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting vulnerable learners.

Your role will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs.
  • Assisting with classroom activities and helping children settle into routines.
  • Working closely with teachers and pastoral teams to ensure a safe, inclusive environment.
  • Active safeguarding knowledge and proactive implementation of safeguarding practices to protect and support all pupils.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
