Transition Teacher, York

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with one of our long-standing clients, to recruit a Nurture Teacher to work with Year 7 pupils, joining the School in September 2019. Ideally you will have full time availability, however part time will be considered for the ideal Teacher. The School provides an alternative source of education for children with a range of additional needs such as social, emotional and mental health, anxiety or autism. If you are a holder of Team Teach, this would be advantageous, however training can be provided in Summer.

You will be primarily responsible for the teaching of all subjects at Year 7 level, however knowledge of the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum is essential. The School has a positive behaviour policy and this would be expected to be followed. A typical School day is 0830-1530, with weekly staff meetings and in-house training available on a regular basis. The School have most recently been graded as Good by Ofsted and every pupil leaves School at Year 11 with qualifications and a further placement such as College or an Apprenticeship.

To be considered for this role, you must:

• Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status
• Hold a current Team Teach certificate or be willing to undertake the training
• Have experience of working with SEMH, ASC or MLD
• Be passionate about supporting the needs of pupils with additional needs
• Be comitted to raising attainment across the School
