We are looking for a Transition Support Worker to work in a school is for ages 4-11 and caters for pupils with identified special needs relating to their social, emotional and mental health needs. This school recently received a Good from OFSTED and is actively looking for individuals, particularly those working in Behaviour support, to propel them to the next level of ‘Outstanding’.
As a result of this you would be supporting the teacher in classes of no more than 8 pupils. The pupils would be of ages 11-12 as they move into their new Primary school. Your role will mainly involve supporting the pupils with their new routines and classes, helping them to adapt to Secondary life through both academically and socially. The school also a fantastic and extended Pastoral team including a Family Support Worker, and a Pupil Support Worker. This would ensure you are supported at all times during your employment and are able to give your very best to your pupils as they develop and mature.
Outside of the curriculum the school is known for a strong respect between the pupils and teachers especially in extracurricular activities such as sports.
The ideal candidate would be someone who:
- Has experience in a primary school environment
- Experience working with social, emotional and mental health
- Can keep calm under pressure
- Has a warm and friendly personality.
The school is located in Stretford and has great transport links to the surrounding area and Manchester City centre, including buses and trams.
