What is a cover supervisor?

The cover supervisors main role is manage the classroom, ensuring student remain on task with the work which they have been set. Demonstrating strong time management and people skills which will enable you to support the pupils in their education.

So cover supervisors:

• Don't plan
• Don't have the subject knowledge
• Don't mark work
• Don't set homework
• Don't differentiate
• Don't set targets

However must be able to demonstrate a confident attitude, providing engaging lessons and a nurturing environment in which pupils can develop both educationally and personally.

What experience / qualifications do you need?

We require out cover supervisors to be highlight qualified or an overseas trained; we require a minimum of an honours or bachelors degree and have experience working with young people. This could be either be personally or professionally; as working with children or adults will help the transition into this position.
