Team Support Role – Haywards Heath
Teaching Personnel is working closely with a supportive and inclusive Primary Special Educational Needs (SEND) school in the Haywards Heath area, who are looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Team Support Educator to join their SEND support team from September.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an educator who enjoys working collaboratively as part of a close-knit team and is passionate about helping children with additional needs achieve their full potential.
As a Team Support Educator, you will work alongside a team of experienced SEND Teaching Assistants, all working towards the same goal of providing outstanding support to primary-aged boys with Special Educational Needs. The pupils you will support have a range of needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, and associated behavioural challenges, requiring a consistent, patient, and team-focused approach.
The Role
As part of the SEND support team, you will play an important role in creating a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment for pupils throughout the school day. Your responsibilities will include:

Working collaboratively alongside a team of SEND Teaching Assistants to support primary-aged boys with additional needs.

Providing classroom, social, and emotional support to pupils with Autism, ADHD, and behavioural needs.

Building positive relationships with pupils to help them feel safe, valued, and encouraged.

Supporting children during lessons, transitions, break times, and wider school activities.

Assisting pupils with emotional regulation and using positive behaviour strategies when challenges arise.

Communicating effectively with colleagues to ensure consistency and continuity of support.

Sharing observations and working together with the wider school team to meet individual pupil needs.

Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive engagement within the school environment.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
-
Has previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND, Autism, ADHD, or behavioural needs.

Is friendly, approachable, and enjoys working as part of a wider support team.

Has excellent communication skills and can build strong professional relationships with colleagues.
-
Is patient, resilient, and able to remain calm when supporting pupils with challenging behaviours.

Understands the importance of consistency, teamwork, and positive relationships when working with SEND pupils.

Is proactive and willing to support wherever needed to help pupils succeed.

Holds (or is willing to obtain) an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS.

Can commit to a full-time role, Monday to Friday, starting from September.

Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to a vehicle due to the school's location.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
