Team Around The Child - Staff Needed

A caring and inclusive school in the Vale of Glamorgan is seeking a committed and compassionate ALN Support Worker to join our Team Around the Child (TAC) provision. This role is key in supporting learners with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and ensuring a coordinated, holistic approach to their development and well-being.

Working closely with the school’s ALNCo, class teachers, external agencies, and families, you’ll be part of a collaborative effort to give every child the support they need to thrive—socially, emotionally, and academically.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct, targeted support to pupils with ALN on a 1:1 or small group basis.

• Help implement and monitor Individual Development Plans (IDPs) in line with the ALN Code for Wales.

• Liaise with professionals such as educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, and family support workers.

• Support inclusive classroom practice and differentiated teaching strategies.

• Contribute to multi-agency reviews and team meetings around the child.

• Build trusting, positive relationships with pupils and their families.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience supporting children with additional learning needs in an educational, personal or care setting.

• A sound understanding of the ALN Code for Wales and person-centred planning.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• A flexible, patient, and empathetic approach.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

• A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 3, HLTA status, or equivalent) is desirable, but not essential.

• An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
