SEN Teaching Assistant
Are you looking for an opportunity to support SEN children within a primary classroom setting?
One of our schools in the Salford area is currently in need of a teaching assistant to support children with a range of needs within their classroom. Children attending this school may have SLD, PMLD, ASC or other, therefore a teaching assistant with any experience working with children with these needs would be essential.
Teaching Personnel can provide training opportunities to registered candidates, such as Team-Teach training and Autism Awareness but candidates who are already trained in these areas would be ideal. Other skills which would be very useful include Makaton or PECS, as many of the children will need support with communication.
The main duties of the role will take place in the classroom, supporting the behaviour and learning of the children alongside the class teacher. However candidates can expected to undertake a number of other duties such as 1:1 sessions, personal care and break time/ lunch time monitoring.
This role will be a very rewarding opportunity to work with primary age children while they learn essential skills to support them throughout their education and their life.
The school like to have a holistic approach to education and like the children to be in an enjoyable, interactive and supportive environment to enhance their learning experience.
You will need to have an enhanced, CHILD WORKFORCE ONLY DBS which is registered to the update service, or be willing to apply for one.
This opportunity can be available on multiple bases; day to day supply, short term and long term contracts and the opportunity for permanent roles. You will also have the opportunity to enhance your skills and qualifications through our CPD Academy and open to take on any further training offered by a school.
