Job Title: Classroom Teaching Assistant

Pay Rate: £13.75 – £15.75 per hour
Location: Wigan, WN4
Contract: Full-Time, Temporary (with potential to become permanent)

We are working closely with a welcoming primary school in Wigan who are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils across the school, working alongside dedicated staff to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment.

The school is well regarded for its caring ethos and commitment to helping every child reach their full potential. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting both the class teacher and pupils, ensuring children are engaged, confident, and able to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide classroom support to teachers, helping deliver lessons and activities effectively.
• Work with small groups of pupils to reinforce learning and provide additional guidance where needed.
• Support classroom routines and help create a positive, calm environment for all learners.
• Assist with the preparation of learning materials and resources.
• Encourage pupils’ confidence, independence, and positive behaviour.

Ideal Candidate:

• An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
• Experience working with children (In an educational setting is desirable).
• A proactive, flexible, and patient approach to supporting children of all abilities.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• A clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
