Teaching Assistant - Trainee position Cardiff

The large Secondary school is located in the North of Cardiff and are looking to give a Trainee Teaching Assistant the opportunity to gain invaluable skills and experiences to further a career in education. You will be tasked to work efficiently and effectively in a Teaching Assistant position where you will support the classroom Teacher and other members of support staff to provide extra support such as literacy and numeracy groups, additional learning support on a one-to-one basis and also give support to those pupils that show signs of challenging behaviour. Subject specific experience is not necessary as you may be required to work throughout the curriculum with a mixture of subjects.

The Successful Candidate must :

• Have full time availability - 5 days per week (Monday to Friday, 8:20 to 3:20pm, term time)
• Be educated ideally to degree level with a minimum of GCSEs inc. Maths and English - A* to C grades. Graduates of any specialism are encouraged to apply.
• You must take a keen interest in the support of young people and their progression both academically and socially.
