Teaching Assistant to support Special Educational Needs

Teaching Personnel are supporting a large academy in Truro who are seeking a specialist to join their support team. You will work closely with the school SENCO to support various children with special educational needs and behavioural needs. You will initially work until February half term 2020 but there may be an opportunity to apply for a full-time and permanent contract.

The ideal applicant will have at least a year of experience supporting special educational needs, either within a school based or care role. You will need to be flexible, approachable, nurturing and have excellent behaviour management. Some of the children you will work with can be challenging and many have SEMH needs. You will work on a timetable and be required to move around different year groups and work cooperatively with different class teachers. You may be required to spend time working outside of the classroom but all planning will be provided and adapted for each individual by the teacher. You may sometimes be required to support in whole class activities and work as a general TA.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
