A Multi-Agency Trust in Oldham are currently looking to recruit an SEN Teaching Assistant for a September 2019 start. The School are looking for a teaching assistant with experience in supporting pupils with SEN needs in developing skills that will support them in life after leaving school. Ideally the successful Teaching Assistant will have experience in offering career guidance and support to young people and experience offering advice in budgeting and finance.
The setting is an outstanding Multi Academy trust which operates across 4 sites in Oldham. Sites cater for individuals between 4 - 19 with a Statement of SEN or an EHCP, on the autistic spectrum and/or have significant communication and interaction difficulties and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).
The role will involve working in co-operation with a qualified teachers to support the ongoing development of all pupils. Due to the specific needs of the pupils the ideal teaching assistant will have experience working with those who display signs of challenging behaviours.
The ideal teaching assistant will have:
- Prior experience offering career advice and guidance
- An understanding of how to cater for pupils with SEN needs
- A commitment to assuring that all pupils have the necessary support in order to achieve the optimal potential
