Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant required to provide support to students with SEN and associated behavioural difficulties 

Our client school are looking for a Support Assistant with the ability to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties and associated challenging behaviours.

The pupils are aged between 5-12 years old, and have significant learning difficulties as a result of their emotional and behavioural difficulties. They may also have MLD, ASC, SpLD, ODD, ADHD and OCD. Their attitudes towards and capacities for learning will vary considerably. The school therefore place great emphasis on differentiation of activities and materials to take account of individual learning styles. They take a proactive approach to identify all potential problems and avoid their escalation through addressing issues physically, emotionally and socially. The individual needs and difficulties of each pupil are met through a variation of class-based, group and individual strategies.

You will ideally have experience supporting young people with behavioural difficulties and SEN. You must be resilient, quick-thinking, enthusiastic and understanding.

The role will be to start from Monday 9th November and the working hours will likely be 9am - 3pm.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
