Teaching Assistant: SEN Support (Full-Time)

Salary: £89.38 per day

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to work with several classes throughout a local SEN provision. This is a full-time role, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people requiring additional behavioural and emotional support.

About the Role:
This role, known as a ‘floating position,’ involves working across the entire school. You will support students aged 3 to 19 with varying abilities, so flexibility and patience are essential qualities for success in this role. The school also provides support for children in off-site base classes at local mainstream schools, so the ability to travel between locations is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement strategies to manage and de-escalate behaviour appropriately
• Assist in delivering structured and tailored learning under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO
• Encourage the pupil’s engagement, confidence, and emotional development
• Maintain clear communication with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals as required
• Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment

Candidate Requirements:

• Ability to remain calm, patient, and consistent under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A proactive and compassionate approach to support.
• Be able to move between age groups and abilities with ease.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply through Teaching Personnel)
• Right to work in the UK.
