Teaching Assistant – Full-Time & Part-Time – September 2025 Start (Newport)
£24,790 – £25,183 a year (FTE) – Term Time Only – 1 Year Fixed Term

Are you passionate about supporting young people in education? Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a well-respected secondary school in Newport to recruit Teaching Assistants for the new academic year, starting September 2025.

Available Positions:

  • 2 x Full-Time Teaching Assistant roles
  • 1 x Part-Time Teaching Assistant role

Contract: 1-year fixed term
Working Pattern: Term-time only
Start Date: September 2025
Location: Newport, South Wales
Salary: £24,790 – £25,183 a year (FTE)

Responsibilities:

  • Support students one-to-one and in small groups, including pupils with additional learning needs
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and engagement
  • Promote student confidence and independence
  • Assist with learning activities, planning, and school events
  • Supervise pupils during non-lesson times and accompany on school trips

What We're Looking For:

  • 5 GCSEs (A–C) including English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Good communication skills and a calm, supportive approach
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Reliability, resilience, and a strong sense of responsibility
  • Experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
