We are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to start working within an Alternative Provision based in Burgess Hill.

The School

The school provides education to those pupils who have been permanently excluded from school and those who cannot attend their own schools for medical reasons. They also support referrals for pupils at significant risk of permanent exclusion from school.

What they do:

The school aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum, in small educational settings, to support children and young people who have had significant behavioural difficulties in school, or who have serious medical conditions, to reach their full potential.

The school has a number of centres for pupils to attend across the West Sussex area. For those pupils who are too ill to attend school, the School has a Blended Learning Team that can support distance learning at home.

Their aim, whenever possible, is to reintegrate children and young people to schools or other appropriate long-term educational settings.

The Candidate

The successful Teaching Assistants will have experience supporting challenging behaviour, have strong classroom and behaviour management and available to start immediately. You will be resilient, show initiative and believe you have the potential to deliver outstanding outcomes.

The Role

In these Teaching Assistant positions, you will be working with challenging behaviour and therefore be strong and adaptable with your approach. Supporting pupil progress and development in and outside the classroom, complementing the work and direction given by the Teacher.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
