Teaching Assistant role

A Primary school in the Manchester, M14 region has asked Teaching Personnel to help them look for a Teaching Assistant (TA) that can help deliver writing intervention support classes during the build up to SATs for the higher achieving students in an effort to help maintain and further increase the high standard of the pupils.

The role would involve taking small groups of around 5-6 pupils out of the classroom, and teaching them on a more personal basis in effort to maintain the high standards. The pupils are all higher achieving so the idea is without distractions they will be able to bounce off each other and help push each other along to achieve even more.

The school has recently appointed a new head teacher and was rated "good" in the latest OFSTED report. The head teacher is looking to push on from this and one of the ways in doing this is by pushing the higher achieving pupils to help them achieve even more. The school is a 2 form entry school and is larger than the average primary.

Experience in this sort of role is desirable but not entirely necessary as the school welcomes anyone who thinks they are the correct fit for this role to apply. All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
