Job description
Primary Teaching Assistant – Peacehaven
Location: Peacehaven
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time & Part-time opportunities available
Pay: £89.38 – £95 per day (dependent on experience)
Can you explain the same concept in three different ways, keep a straight face during spontaneous show-and-tell moments, and celebrate the magic of a child finally having a lightbulb moment? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
Teaching Personnel is working closely with a welcoming, well-regarded primary school in Peacehaven that’s searching for an enthusiastic and caring Primary Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a brilliant chance to make a real impact in the classroom — no cape required, but heroic levels of patience are highly recommended.
The Role:
As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you’ll be:
-
Supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 or KS2 (depending on where your strengths lie)
-
Working 1:1 or in small groups to build confidence and support learning
-
Helping to create a positive, inclusive and engaging classroom environment
-
Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management
-
Being a calm, reassuring presence — even when the glitter inevitably escapes
The Ideal Candidate:
-
Has experience working with children (school-based experience is a bonus, but not essential)
-
Brings enthusiasm, patience and a good sense of humour
-
Understands that learning is never one-size-fits-all
-
Is reliable, adaptable and genuinely enjoys helping children thrive
-
Holds (or is willing to apply for) an enhanced DBS on the update service
What Teaching Personnel Offers:
-
Competitive weekly pay, paid directly through us
-
Ongoing CPD and training opportunities to grow your confidence and skills
-
A dedicated consultant who actually gets to know you
-
Opportunities in supportive, well-regarded schools
-
A foot in the door for long-term or permanent roles
If you’re ready to swap your office chair (or sofa) for a classroom full of curious minds and lightbulb moments, this could be the role for you. Apply today and let’s get you started on your next adventure in education!
